The Lock Shop maintains a strict policy against chargebacks and theft of service. Any attempt to reverse or dispute a valid transaction after services have been rendered is considered fraudulent activity and will be pursued accordingly. If a chargeback is initiated without first contacting our office to resolve the matter, the customer will be liable for the full amount of the original service, reimbursement of any chargeback fees as well as any costs incurred to recover the funds. It may also result in a permanent refusal of services from The Lock Shop. Customers who intentionally avoid payment, provide false information, or falsely claim unauthorized charges may be subject to criminal and civil action for theft of services. No Refunds After Programming or Cutting:

Verification of Compatibility:

Special order items based on incorrect vehicle provided by the customer are not eligible for refunds, returns, or exchanges.

Vehicle Condition:

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle is in working mechanical and electrical condition prior to programming. If the technician determines that the vehicle is not in a fit state to proceed with service, service may be denied or rescheduled at an additional cost.

Damaged or Defective Modules:

If programming fails as a result of an issue with the vehicle’s key reader, computer, or other component(s), the customer remains responsible for all time and labor incurred during the attempt to provide the requested service. No refunds will be issued for keys or remotes rendered unusable due to vehicle related issues.

Vehicle Programming Limitations/Failures/Delays:

The Lock Shop provides professional automotive key programming services using industry-standard diagnostic tools and equipment. It is important to note not all vehicles respond predictably to programming attempts due to a variety of factors outside of our control. We will attempt to diagnose any issue when programming fails, but vehicles with certain faults or more complex failures may require specialized diagnostics through a dealership.

By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

We are not responsible for failed programming attempts caused by:

  • Malfunctioning or damaged ECUs, immobilizers, BCMs (body control modules), or keyless entry systems

  • Dealer-locked systems requiring factory authorization or OEM-level tools

  • Failed antenna coils, ignition switches, or key readers

  • Damaged wiring, corroded fuse boxes, or unrecognized module configurations

The customer is responsible for the cost of locksmith and programming services regardless of success. The total due will include time spent to identify or diagnose issues. No refunds will be issued if programming fails due to vehicle related issues.

The Lock Shop is not liable for:

  • Vehicle damage as a result of existing faults

  • Towed vehicles that become immobile due to pre-existing ignition, ECM, or transponder faults
